Bequests

Dr. Brent Kendrick grew up in a town with no library, in a home with only a handful of books. Nonetheless, he earned a Ph.D. in English, had a career in upper management at the Library of Congress-a place, so to speak, with all the books-and became a professor of English with the good fortune of teaching here at Laurel Ridge Community College. He has said that he would not have achieved those outcomes had it not been for the support of family and of countless benefactors whose endowed scholarships furthered his academic pursuits. The perfect way for him to pay it forward is to include Laurel Ridge in his will, as he has done, with great joy in knowing that he will be helping future students achieve their dreams, too.
